Terms of Use

What are the rules for using Snowday? The free, instant, no sign-up snow day calculator is provided as-is for personal, non-commercial use; scores are estimates with no warranty, and you may not scrape, resell, or misrepresent the tool or its Open-Meteo-sourced outputs. Use the site and you accept these terms.

Acceptable use

The bottom line: use it as a family or classroom tool, and don’t hammer the weather APIs on our behalf.

Intellectual property & attribution

The bottom line: our words and code are ours; the weather data belongs to Open-Meteo under CC BY 4.0, and the credit stays.

Site text, design, and the scoring formula’s presentation are © 2026 willitsnowday.com. Weather data is provided by Open-Meteo.com under CC BY 4.0; that attribution appears in every page footer and must be preserved in any republication of our outputs. NOAA/NCEI climate normals cited on state pages are US government works in the public domain.

No warranty & liability

The bottom line: the site is provided “as-is,” and your school district’s announcement always outranks our percentage.

Snow day chances are estimates generated from public forecast data; they can be wrong even when the forecast is right. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for decisions made on the basis of a score — including missed buses, un-done homework, or sled trips that had to be canceled. See the disclaimer for the plain-English version.

Changes to these terms

The bottom line: we can update these terms; the “last updated” date above tells you when something changed.
