Privacy Policy

What does Snowday collect? Almost nothing: the free, instant, no sign-up snow day calculator stores no accounts and sets no tracking cookies — your location search goes directly from your browser to Open-Meteo’s public APIs, and the only thing saved on your device is an optional ad-consent choice. This page explains the details.

What we collect (short list)

The bottom line: no accounts, no analytics on our side, no profiles — the tool runs in your browser.

Location queries you type (ZIP code or city) are sent from your browser directly to Open-Meteo’s free geocoding and forecast APIs. We never see them; Open-Meteo’s own terms and privacy practices apply on their end.
Local storage: an optional ad-consent choice (snowday-consent) and, if the preferred-source notice is ever enabled, its dismissed state (snowday-chip-dismissed). These live on your device and never leave it.
Server logs: our shared host may keep standard web-server access logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp) for security, as virtually every web server does.

What we deliberately do not do

The bottom line: no sign-up exists, so there is no email list, no password, and no profile to protect.

We do not sell or share personal data, run advertising networks, embed social pixels, or fingerprint browsers. Children use this site, and we treat that seriously: the calculator asks for a ZIP code or city name only — never a name, school, or birthdate.

If we add ads later

The bottom line: display ads, if ever enabled, would bring their own cookies — which is exactly why the consent banner exists before any ad loads.

Reserved ad placeholders are visible on the page today but load no ad code. If Google AdSense is added after approval, third-party vendors (including Google) may use cookies subject to their own policies, and we will wire the consent banner to a Google-certified consent platform before any ad script runs. This page will be updated the day that happens.

Your choices

The bottom line: clear your browser’s site data for willitsnowday.com and every trace of your visit to the tool is gone.
